Rose joins Birdies4Rhinos initiative

Olympic gold medallist Justin Rose has joined fellow professional golfers Dean Burmester and Justin Walters among others, in the Birdies4Rhinos initiative to raise money to save the endangered animal.

This conservation initiative is funded by the professional golfers through the Birdies4Rhinos platform where players donate money for each birdie they make during the course of the season. Among other golfers involved in the drive there is Chris Paisley, Nicole Garcia, Stacey Bregman and Richard Bland.

A former US Open winner in 2013 and a multiple winner on the Sunshine Tour, PGA Tour and European Tour, Rose is the newest addition to the growing list of sportsmen and women who have taken it upon themselves to contribute towards ensuring the future of the rhinos is intact.

So far, Burmester leads the lot with 239 birdies made this season, while Rose follows with 197 followed by Walters’ 117 and Bland’s 100. A total of 58 birdies were made between Burmester, Rose, Bland, Paisley and Walters at the recently concluded Dubai Duty Free Irish Open last week.
